The one thing I didn’t like with the body positivity movement was that thinner people always had to assert themselves into the conversation, like you haaddddd to be inclusive to thinner people even though society already valued them over other body types. And like it really upset me for a while because I couldn’t find solidarity with this entire movement, because fat girls were always being criticized for not including skinny people even though the movement was created for fat girls

So basically thank you Nicki Minaj for creating dialog that I’ve been afraid to mention to anyone

Adrienne Rich’s badass attack on heteronormative patriarchal society in Cumpulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Existence continues to change my life

if you’re a modern feminist and you choose to not read any historical papers or essays from feminists because education is a privilege and you want to prove that you dont need upper level education to be a feminist, then i vibe with what you’re saying but you’re missing a lot of fantastic analysis of society and gender, even if they are historically dated

you can find everything in pdf form online usually too

writing a paper analyzing simone de beauvoir’s groundbreaking idea that women become the “Other” as gender is a social construct, through her use of historical and literary examples within the introduction
